Hello.
My name is Kristy Sinclair. I'm a UX/UI Designer with over 10 years industry experience. I'm based in Perth, Western Australia.
In 2004 I began studying for my degree in Multimedia Design (BA) from Curtin University. Driven by a combination of my three great loves at the time—computer software, video games and digital illustration—I had big dreams of becoming involved in the field of interaction design.
I was incredibly lucky to land my first role immediately after graduating, and in January of 2007, I started as a toolbar icon designer for PC-based software applications.
Over the next two years, I moved into user interface design, often finding myself in situations with clients where I saw opportunities for a more user-centred approach. Many digital products and services focused entirely on business goals, but were not being designed with real people in mind. This curiosity in user-centred problem solving led me straight to user experience design.
In 2010, I completed my first major UX project: the system design, user flow and user interface for a public touch screen kiosk developed by pieNETWORKS, and deployed by Telstra, Australia’s largest telecommunications and media company.
In my career to date, I've managed and executed projects with large UX/UI clients including Cochlear, Europlus, Nero, Gemcom (now Geovia) and Minetec. I've also been a part of numerous local startups, and collaborate often with digital agencies.
Outside of my commitments in UX/UI design, I'm also a very dedicated digital illustrator. My work ranges from licensed children's artwork, to technical and instructional illustrations. You can find my work in site specific operation manuals for clients including Rio Tinto, Galaxy Resources, and Iluka Mineral Sands. My background in illustration helps me to communicate ideas in a way everyone can understand.
I am passionate about designing digital products with delightful, human experiences. I balance real business goals whilst advocating for the user every step of the way.
